Lucky Kahindi
Marine Technician
I am lucky Baraka, I am the Marine technician at A rocha Kenya. I was born and raised in Watamu and joined A Rocha in 2022 as a volunteer with an aim of improving my computer skills but as I was exploring every department I ended up in the marine team. I felt like this is my thing and God is calling to do this.
My journey of becoming one of the marine technicians begins there. Each and every day was a day of learning something new concerning marine biology and sea life.
I was able to participate in various projects working with both corals and elasmobranch research. Later in 2024 I became an open water certified diver and that was one of my greatest achievements in my life. I am passionate about underwater filming hence my name change from Lucky Baraka to Lucky underwater.
Apart from having marine knowledge, being in A Rocha enables me to understand God’s relationship with humans and every living thing around us. For sure we have every reason to protect the environment.
